Shhh...Don't Tell It
You can rest assured that the Lord has visited mightily with us again at Sand Hill Church! We had an "OH, me" service. The text was taken from II Samuel 1: 17 - 20. And the focus was on verse 20. Some of tonight's thoughts were
- Saul hated David
- David had many opportunites for revenge, but never did
- People hurt us and some glory in the downfall of their brothers
- Instead of glorying in the downfall of others...try to learn
- You let God deal with it and you don't tell it
- Keep church matters in the church-let it die
- Don't give the devil a place to work
- A tale-bearer (doesn't say "false") revealeth secrets but a faithful soul conceals it
- Even true tale-bearing can destroy the church's or a person's reputation for a long, long, long time
- Remember that what we tell others (even if it's true) can destroy
- Someone wrongs you? Try to make it right. Talk to God. Let God do His work.
- Exalt the Lord, Edify the saved, and Evangelize the lost
The message moved each of us to desire to be better brothers and sisters and not to hinder the work of God. Shh...don't tell it to others; tell it to God.
Come on out and worship with us tomorrow if you don't have a home church.
